    Sunday 26 May - No Racing

    NO RACING at W&OBYC on Sunday 26th May . The Motor Boat Club have an important National Championships taking place that day, so we are allowing them access to the Club earlier than normal. The River Race for the Waveney's is still going ahead. This means that the Sunday Spring points series for Fast Handicap, Slow Handicap and BODs/Squibs will finish this coming Sunday (May 19th) not on the 26th. The

    Sunday May 5th

    Sunday 5th May - there's powerboat racing on the Broad in the afternoon, so it will be an earlier than usual start for our races. 10.00 Fast Handicap 10.03 Mixed Keels 10.06 Waveneys 10.09 Slow Handicap Second races will follow straight on so that we can complete our racing by 11:45, and clear the broad and the slipway by 12.00. Fast Handicap, 6 minutes later Mixed Keels, 3 minutes later

    Topper Success

    Nathan (and Anna!) spent the weekend at Carsington Water Sailing Club where the top 24 ranked Topper sailors in Great Britain were invited for a weekend of top level coaching by ITCA. The coaches consisted of Steve Irish (Olympic level coach) Tom Goodbourn (Top level Topper coach) and Joe Rowe (2022 Topper World Champion and now coach) and focused on race strategy and tactics within a quality fleet. (Nathan is currently ranked 24th.).

    Winter Series - half way

    The calculations say there are 19 Sundays in our winter racing programme and, as Sunday was the 9th, we're now just past the half-way stage. The current leaders are George Madin in the first Fast Handicap series and Nathan Clark in the second; Bryan and Jenny Riley in both Squib series; Isaac Thomas in the first Slow Handicap series and Harry Calver in the second.   • Boxing Day - Jonathan House Memorial Salver

    The Jonathan House Memorial Salver will be raced for on Boxing Day (December 26th), with an All-comers Handicap race starting at 10:45. The race will be followed by mulled wine and a prize giving in the clubhouse.
